Unironically, I love Waluigi. His voice clips are fun and the various cutscenes with Wario, like Power Tennis or Sluggers, are always a joy. And then he was an antagonist in DDR, planning to hypnotize the Mushroom Kingdom with his dancing? I love it. In Double Dash I always use Waluigi and Luigi in Waluigi's purple kart.

I would die for a new Wario Land/World game that featured Waluigi in some capacity. As a very tall lanky human, he was always my go to in Mario sports games.

This is kind of a generalization, but I've noticed that Waluigi's biggest fans seem to be on the younger side. People who grew up with the GameCube or Wii. To them, Waluigi's always been just another part of the Mario universe. Older fans tend to see him as a weird, off-brand Johnny-come-lately. They're the ones that like him ironically, if they like him at all.

I've personally never quite liked Waluigi, but over the years I've learned to tolerate him. The idea of putting him in a "core" Mario or Wario game still feels wrong, though. Like seeing the Roadrunner and Sam Sheepdog in the same cartoon. Wario has his own little corner of the Mario universe, with characters like Rudy and Captain Syrup, and Waluigi just isn't part of that. It'd be cool if Nintendo gave Waluigi his own game and let him carve out his own niche, though.
