hot swop guide
(NOTE: This is done up like an interview, but if you really pay attention you will see what I did.)
Tod: Welcome to the glorious S'N'S interview!! Bod: Thats right, Tod, and today is beautiful. Tod: Well, today were getting expert on all thing Mr.Expert to interview DarkIceKey! Bod: Mr.Expert wants to know if DarkIceKey REALLY discovered S'N'S... Tod: And it looks like the crowd has gone WILD! Bod: Thats right, Tod, and now to start the show! ------------------------------------------------------------------- DarkIceKey: Hello, Mr.Expert. Mr.Expert: Hello, DarkIceKey. Is your hot swop claim TRUE? DarkIceKey: im 110% sure it is. I got the ice key in banjo tooie on my 1994 Nintendo 64. Mr.Expert: Yes, much like everyone else in the world... DarkIceKey: Well, I then decided to try a hot swop, and BAM! All of my files had the Ice Key. Mr.Expert: Interesting... I am amazed at your effort. But I have one question. DarkIceKey: Ask away! Mr.Expert: What led you to do a hot swop... And how can we be sure you arent LYING? DarkIceKey: What lead me to do the hot swop was, that I had heard of S'N'S. I then thought "I wonder what would happen," so here I am talking to you. And you know I'm not LYING because you can try it yourself. Mr.Expert: One last question, DarkIceKey. Did you get anything OTHER than the IceKey? DarkIceKey: Not quite but I haven't searched around much, and I never tried hot swopping back. Mr.Expert: Well, I do have newly found respect for you, noobie, but if you truly did hot swop then why haven't other players done this yet? DarkIceKey: Because they've been approaching head on, not rock solid. Mr.Expert: I see, and have you ever done any other hot swopping in your life? DarkIceKey: No not really. Mr.Expert: Do you have a REAL gameshark. DarkIceKey: V.3.1! Mr.Expert: Then judging by the games code wouldn't this be impossible? DarkIceKey: By the code of the two games, yes, but by the code of the N64, not so much. Mr.Expert: Well this interview is over, people! DarkIceKey: For more information send me a PM! |

Trying to find Stop 'n Swop is like trying to find Bigfoot. You don't find it.

Why don't you TRY IT, LIKE THE THREAD CLEARLY EXPLAINS.
Also it's not a normal hot swop. You turn of that game and pluck in another one and wait for the data to transfer. Besides, if I showed pictures, or even a video a bunch of idiots would say "ZOMG U NOBZORZZ U H3XXED ITZ!!!" |

And if you won't show pictures, we'll all think your lying, you'll lose all your respect, and your thread will be closed.
Your choice. Even though i know whats going to happen.

Oh yea. Like I would sign up for a community and suddenly turn around and lie to it. Just grab the B-T ice key, preform the swop and see the effect. it takes 2 seconds but you would rather be rude about it Mr. Mentor.
People would think I was lying either way. Last edited by DarkIceKey; 24th January 2009 at 06:53 PM. |

Furthermore in order to do that Banjo-Tooie would have to write Ice Key data onto the N64s temporary data area. And since the original intention for SNS would be transfering from BK > BT, there would be no data of that sort written.
Furthermore neither game have been shown to write this data in the entire code analysis.

Well, maybe it was a bug with the N64's memory holding ability, or something, that transfered the ice key data SLIGHTLY to B-K, because Wozza's ice key was fine.
Maybe this is a bug, not a discovery? Look, I wanna solve the mystery too, and I made a discovery. Do you think that JUST BECAUSE I found something without hacking that makes me a liar, when I've seen people turn around to beleive that aliens are attacking earth... I guess thats how the internet works. Beleive the unbeleivable and laugh at the truth. Last edited by DarkIceKey; 24th January 2009 at 07:07 PM. |

Something like this can't be a bug. It can be lies though. You didn't make a discovery, this would have been found yeeeaaaaarrrrrssssssss ago if it were true.

Are you generalising the internet?
Do you asume that I believe aliens are taking over the government? If anything it's a bug, and it may not even be caused by BT, because BT doesn't save data like that to the temp storage. Edit: By the way, you think that no-one has ever tried things like this before? These things were the first things anyone did.
