N64 Midi Tool
Here's a preview release of the N64 Midi Tool. It's an MFC DLL + Test Application. Note that the instruments files are coded to GoldenEye, and I don't know how many instruments are in the other games so you'll have to make your own, and import files for that. There's a sample lookup for GE, as thats the default, included with the zip.
It supports all the US known midi games, so good luck! The intent is for you to use it with your own programs and make your own midi instrument lookups. It also supports extract of midis (although instruments will be their usual #s, so not right), which should be interesting. It will be posted on RWP soon as well, once it's out of alpha. You are free to change, use any part of this code as long as you credit SubDrag and the RWP in your release, and you post here showing what you did. http://goldeneyevault.com/extras/n64miditool.rar The following games are believed to be supported: GoldenEye;Perfect Dark;BanjoKazooie;BanjoTooie;Conker;Donkey Kong;Donkey Kong Demo;Jet Force Gemini;Blast Corps;Body Harvest;Cruisn World;Diddy Kong Racing;Diddy Kong Racing 1.1;Duke Nukem 64;Extreme G;Extreme G2;Jet Force Gemini Kiosk;Killer Instinct Gold;Killer Instinct Gold 1.2;Kirby 64;Mickeys Speedway USA;Razor Freestyle Scooter;Other; |

This crashes so much! Every time I try to export MIDIs, it crashes.
Error Decompressing TODO: <File description> has stopped working. ^ This happens to me every time! I haven't exported a single midi! Am I missing something? I'm trying to get music from Pokemon Snap, but I've been having absolutely no luck! Last edited by lemurboy12; 11th December 2010 at 06:37 PM. |

Alas it is not compatible with Pokemon Snap, they don't use the same midi format as far as I can see. It's not on list of valid games.

OK oddly it is not working with BK right now. I swear it was before. I'll have to get back to you on that one. Apparently BK compressed files have 1172s often so the auto-detection is workly very poorly. You can extract individual midis successfully, see Coolboymans rom map to see if valid midi or not:

I reuploaded it with hardcoded for all BK Midis, so should work fine now for BK.

You think you can add Pokemon Snap compatibility? It's the only game I need midis from! Also, what games work in the "Other" category? Nothing I want works with it.
EDIT: What a waste of an 1000th post. EDIT EDIT: NOTHING works for me! Not even DK64 works when I try to export something! This program needs major work. Last edited by lemurboy12; 23rd December 2010 at 12:03 AM. |

I got nice midi's from Diddy Kong Racing... Not all of them though. Race win/lose music, and Haunted Woods were the most evident ones.

Other won't work unless it's a valid midi game, I left it in in case there are Japanese games that can be ripped. Otherwise it's only valid on the games there (not all were fully tested with export all).

Well, is there any way you can find out how the MIDIs in Pokemon Snap are addressed?
