What is a debug menu? does it affect gameplay when modified like a gameshark? Besides, why would the sandcastle codes make legible sentences.

So they were easy to remember. Rare testers didn't want to have to look down at a completely random 30-character long password EVERY TIME they wanted to unlock something.

Debug menus are generally used to check if values do exactly what they're supposed to do when set. It makes debugging and development easier and quicker. Simple as that, really. And I'm sure the sandcastle codes were also a bit of a backup plan in case things took a turn for the worse here and there.

ok this wasn't my thought, but someone else's from rare-xtreme.
"Not so long time ago there was someone who was looking at the color of the eggs and realize that they match with the color of the kongs in DK64. Of course this isn´t true. Eggs color: Kongs color: red red yellow yellow pink purple blue blue green green cyan You see that there are 6 eggs and five kongs and there´s a difference bitween purple and pink. So I thought: Why did rare use that colors and not simply the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. So I went looking for a real match. And I found one!!! Ever played Yoshi´s story or any other yoshi game. You can play 6 different kinds of Yoshi´s: green Yoshi red Yoshi yellow Yoshi pink Yoshi blue Yoshi cyan Yoshi And that´s a match." i checked and they were right. except in the game there are two other colors white and black, maybe if these are connected there would have to be a white and black, because in Yoshi story the were hidden in the game. i posted this here because this sort of has to do with swapping. Interesting Idea, but is Yoshi's Story a Rare game?
Also, I thought I heard about a fake theory with a white egg and a black egg, correct me if I'm wrong. People knew it wasn't true, but, jesus I'm having a hard time remembering what it was... Someone else probably knows about this.

Rare didn't make Yoshi Story.
The colors chosen for the eggs are mostly primary colors. Even cyan is a primary color on one of the three color scales. Eventually you could probably match the SNS eggs with 1,000 other games. I'm sure some game may have a blue-green-cyan-yellow-red-pink control panel somewhere. They are as common as white and black, in my opinion.

Although I don't think BK links to Yoshi Story in ANY WAY AT ALL TO ANY DEGREE... the fact that you made the connection from BKP to YS through the book detail was impressive. Props EvilPsycho.

He is saying Rare characters were in SSB... although they weren't. Donkey Kong is Nintendo owned, not Rare owned. Banjo/Conker and them never made it to SSB. In fact, Nintendo insisted on restricting SSB to Nintendo and 1st party company owned characters. Rareware was second party before being sold.
Although that is another good thought, wrong or not.
