Anybody got any sweet little theories? I don't believe that the player is controlling Kris, at all. I think people jumped to conclusions. The real-life player is not an actual character in this game imo. I know Undertale had some meta elements but having Kris be controlled by real-life YOU as like an actual major part of the story is weird and I don't think Toby would do that.
When Kris rips his soul out and the player can move it around inside the birdcage, that's because Kris is the soul, not the body. You ARE Kris, in the same sense you ARE Master Chief when you play Halo. Kris is the one who is moving around in the cage, because that's his soul. Your soul has your consciousness in it, not your body. Your body is just mundane physical matter, it can't walk around on its own, or, if it can, it'll just be a brainless zombie because the soul is missing and there's no consciousness to pilot the body. People call this 3rd Entity Theory, but that's disingenuous because the point is that Kris and the player are NOT separate entries. No. Someone else is possessing Kris, primarily while he's asleep. It's easier to get possessed when you're asleep because your conscious mind is offline, so it won't put up a fight. The soul has to be physically removed in order for the possessor to possess you fully, otherwise it would be a fight for controll that they'd probably lose. Yes there is a small hole in the theory, namely the time Kris gets possessed in the bathroom, which I can't explain. But everything else makes sense, and DREAMS in particular are a major theme in Toby's games that come up repeatedly. Dark worlds are essentially dream worlds, the theme of sleeping/dreaming is cropping up repeatedly on Deltarune. Edit: Also I don't necessarily believe this next part, but there's a chance the exact same thing is happening to Rudy Holiday, and he's getting possessed in his sleep. That's WHY he's getting sick, the possession steals your life force and makes you terminally ill. Kris hasn't got sick yet either because it takes a prolonged time or because human souls are much more powerful than monster ones. It's entirely possible that Rudy is the Roaring Knight, but is completely unaware of it and has no idea he's being possessed late at night. Last edited by qwertykins76; 15th July 2024 at 06:46 PM.

I don't wanna be that guy but MK World honestly looks like it's gonna have problems. Aside from having the single worst character select UI I have ever seen in a video game, I bet the lengths of road inbetween the actual racetracks are gonna get annoying extremely quickly
