Too soon... By comparison anyway. On the flipside I don't think Nintendo has any real reason to wait.

I heard somewhere that a ton of items from Ruby/Sapphire were programmed back into Black/White 2. Even those that weren't in Black/White.

Pokemon needs to get rid of HMs. All of them could be replaced with tools or actual effort on the part of the player character.

Fast Travel replaces Fly.
Axe replaces Cut.
Flash light/Lantern replaces Flash.
Pick Axe replaces Rock Smash.
Surf replaced by Swimming.
Dive replaced by scuba diving.
Rock climbing and Waterfall replaced by rock climbing.
Strength replaced by large Pokemon can just push them.

Or how about this: Certain pokémon can posses these abilities Naturally?

i.e., catch a Pidgeotto, get the appropriate badge that enables you to fly, and you can fly on your Pidgeotto without it having to learn the actual move.
However, a pokémon like Pidgey wouldn't be strong enough to do so, so Pidgey can't fly.

The problem with fly is this. Only 81 Pokemon can learn the move and this is counting different formes of legendaries as Pikachu and Smeargle.

Fast Travel is something that most RPGs have now, and there is no reason Pokemon should hold off on this simple change any more.

Abilities like that are one of the other possible concepts for getting rid of HMs, but not being able to quickly travel from one side of the map to the other until you are 75% through the game is complete BS.

So, that announcement from GameFreak comes tomorrow. Who else is relatively excited?

So I was going to make a thread out of this, but I'll just post it in here.

It looks like a few people have already made some comments on this, but who's ready for the 'big announcement' tomorrow? Personally, I hope it's a Gen III remake, and I'm sure that it is. Anyone else?

Since we heard they're been adding back items from prior Pokemon games into the coding of newer ones like Black2/White2, I'm hoping it's a game with every region but the likelihood of that happening is damn near never. :V

A Ruby / Sapphire remake would be great but so would a new gen to me. I'm excited for whatever it is. :J

There's this rumor about Pokemon Rainbow that, while doubtful, I'd totally buy if it actually came out. Promises the return of the first four regions, 20 new Pokemon (including a Dragon-type Eevee), and a new and dynamic art style and camera system.

I don't want a gen 6 it's too early, I just want my fifth gen Ruby Sapphire remakes for DS. Pokemon, please don't make me buy a 3DS.

If this isn't Gen 6 (or something like Pokemon Rainbow which I highly doubt the rumors are real) I'm not going to be happy.

Before B2/W2 I wanted Ruby/Sapphire remakes but now that I've completed White 2 (Pokedex and all) I'm ready for a new generation of Pokemon to catch. If Pokemon Rainbow turned out to be true then it needs to include a full new Generation not just 20 new Pokemon.
