Mumbo is Jinjo?

I once thought Mumbo was a Jinjo to. But now I'm not to sure. I think Rare is sort of ignoring the fact Mumbo weres a mask, and are making it seem the skull on Mumbo's head is Mumbo's head and not a mask.

His skin does looks a bit sewn on with those huge creases when he bends his arms. But in the showdown town walkthrough he's introduced as a pretty normal character. I wouldn't put it past Rare though to have him turn out to be a jinjo and to of tied the real mumbo up somewhere.

I thought this theory was absolutely silly in 2001 and I still think it's silly to this day.

I don't believe it to be true, but I've always accepted that they do look similar and that it is possible with the whole "Grunty changed his face until she is defeated" thing. Except Mumbo is too big... but so was Jingaling...

Didn't Rare drop the whole "Mumbo Curse" thing after BK? It has never been addressed. Well then again, Grunty hasn't been 100% defeated.

I always thought, and stuck to the "Grunty cursed him." saying in B-K. But I think he's going to remain that way, because he would look strange and unrecognizable without the look we're all used to.
