The Secret 116th Mumbo Token

Thought there might be something to talk about.

There's actually 116 Mumbo Tokens in the game (instead of 115), but you can only collect 115.

There are 16 Mumbo Tokens in Mad Monster Mansion, however two of these Mumbo Tokens have the same "collected" flag number. There is one in the Pumpkin's toilet septic tank, and one in one of the cellar's barrels that have the same flag number (0x104). So if you collect the one in the cellar, the one in the septic tank won't show up, and visa versa.

You can try it for yourself, I just thought this was a pretty interesting error.

So, even though there are two tokens in two separate places, collecting one nullifies the other? So even though there are 16, you can only collect 15?

Cool

Find anything about a stone key yet?

First question: yep

Second: I can make as many different keys as I want with this Banjo-Kazooie editor that's currently in production that I'm helping work on.

Alright, I don't know why I thought that would work.. My third, oldest file has everything completed..except it has 39 Mumbo Tokens. I spent a lot of time searching for it but no dice. I've 100% the game in my second file. I'm sure it's not the one in GV, because I gamesharked my way up there. I've had this suspicion that my gamesharking in that file made this glitch but y'know..

This is a pretty interesting piece of trivia here. Nothing too riveting of course, but it's always cool to have people still discovering things in BK to this day. Good work CBM!

Wasn't there something about there being a 116th token in the sink of Loggo's room as well as the bowl? And something about France...

That's super cool. I wonder how many people subconsciously go to both of those areas during their token hunt. I've never memorized that level enough for that to come into play.

I've always or almost always gone to the cellar first.

Wow... This is very interesting. I always seem to go to the cellar before visiting the bowels of MMM, so I've never seen a Mumbo Token there. But there really IS 116 Mumbo Tokens! That's awesome.

To be honest, I never really bothered with the Mumbo Tokens because I usually have enough.
