Dream, an RPG about a boy named Edison who battles a gang of pirates led by Captain Blackeye, began development on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, by the Donkey Kong Country team, directly after the completion of DKC2. It was planned to use ACM graphics like DKC and would "take them to the next level," however, the upcoming Nintendo 64 rendered ACM obsolete, so development quickly shifted to the N64. It eventually became the Banjo-Kazooie we know today.

Not much else is known except that Edison was eventually replaced by a bipedal rabbit, and then later, Banjo. Captain Blackeye went on to cameo in Banjo-Kazooie as a portrait in Mad Monster Mansion, and later appear as a minor character in Jolly Roger's Lagoon in Banjo-Tooie (wherein he talks about a "Dream" he had that he "were in this fine game" until a bear "stole his glory").
