Banjo-Kazooie DS announced

I was flicking through THQ's latest press brochure and was astonished to find some promotional material on Banjo-Kazooie for the Nintendo DS.

A while ago we learnt that Rare were hiring Nintendo DS programmers to work on some titles. We now know that one of them is a new Banjo Kazooie game.

The brochure explains that it is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game but with much more added content.

"In your quest you will get to control Banjo, Kazooie, Mumbo and Bottles to explore ten fun packed levels. You can learn up to 30 different moves to help you progress through the game."

"The game comes complete with Nintendo-Wifi multiplayer action so you can test your skills against friends in up to 5 different battle modes."

The Nintendo 64 version only had nine levels as far as I'm aware so we know that at least one more level has been added in this remake. By the look of the screenshots you get a full screen to play the main game and a top down overall map with a player indicator and general HUD.

The release date they have penciled in is Q1 2007. This is just what the Rare Witch Project has been waiting for. We'll bring you more news as it becomes available.
