Grant Kirkhope resigns from Rare

Beloved Rare Ltd. video game music composer Grant Kirkhope resigned from Rare today, according to a post on the composer's Myspace.com blog today.

"Well everyone.....it's a very sad time, I have to tell you all that I've resigned from Rare. This Friday (18th) will be my last day at the company. Recording the stuff in Prague with Robin for Banjo has been my last task before I leave," Kirkhope said.

Kirkhope, 46, composed music for the Banjo-Kazooie series, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye 007, and Viva Piñata. Grant, though a relatively unknown composer when compared to many in the industry, he has been praised for years in the Banjo community.

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts will be his final Rare soundtracks.

The Rare Witch Project wishes Grant great success in his future endeavors.
