Rash Punts His Way into Killer Instinct for Xbox One

Yes, you read that correctly - the eponymous sunglasses-wearing amphibian-with-an-attitude has joined the roster of Killer Instinct for the Xbox One, alongside a couple other important announcements for the recently-revived fighting franchise.

Revealed at Microsoft's 2015 Gamescom Conference yesterday on August 4th, Rash's arsenal includes a variety of nods to the original games, including shape-shifting into a giant wrecking ball, headbutting the opponent with large ram horns, a jumping double kick, and the classic spiked boot punt. He can even summon the infamous jet-speeder from the Turbo Tunnel stage to mow down his adversaries. With that said, Rash's moveset is not entirely finished - a prime example being that his Ultra is simply an oversized fist punch, which was confirmed by the development team to be a placeholder until his proper Ultra is complete.

While the rest of Season 3's content is scheduled to release in March of 2016, Rash was made available to the public on August 4th, the day of the announcement at Gamescom. Further still, the Windows 10 port of the game has now been slated for release in March of 2016, alongside Season 3's release.

With Rash's inclusion marking the second cameo appearance from the Battletoads this year - the first being an optional boss fight in the Xbox One port for the indie platformer hit Shovel Knight - it's become all but evident that Microsoft and Rare have big plans for the 'Toads in the near future.
