Rare's colourful Viva Piñata failed to win any gongs at this year's BAFTA Awards. They were nominated for Artistic Achievement and Original Score, but were beaten by Capcom's Okami in both categories.

The Golden Joystick Awards didn't hold any comfort either. Piñata was nominated in three categories, but was beaten by Wii Sports in Family Game of the Year, and Guitar Hero II in the Bliss Girls' Choice category, while Gears of War was crowned Xbox Game of the Year.
